We are seeking a senior professional to manage the legal and compliance functions across WTW Australia, New Zealand, and Pacific Island businesses. This role involves supporting complex legal and compliance projects, advising leadership on various issues, overseeing the Pacific compliance program, and collaborating with other practice areas and functions to ensure seamless support. The Role

Qualifications

The Requirements

  • Proven experience as a senior lawyer with over 15 years in private practice and/or in-house roles. Must be licensed and in good standing as an active member of the bar in at least one relevant jurisdiction.
  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance in Australia and New Zealand is required, with deep knowledge and understanding strongly preferred.Direct experience providing regulatory compliance support, or managing others who have provided such support, is also strongly preferred.
  • Solid track record of handling complex and sophisticated legal matters in an efficient and commercial-friendly manner.
  • Deep knowledge and experience in financial services laws and regulations are required. Some experience with the insurance sector is required, with deep experience preferred.
  • Experience in advising professional services businesses is preferred.
  • Experience giving legal advice throughout the Pacific region is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels to provide strategic legal advice and promote an effective and business focused compliance culture.
  • Experience working in a global business is preferred. The ability to work independently, with limited daily support from managers in different time zones, is required.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and opinions with discretion. Ability to remain calm under pressure.

This position is a part time position with 50% capacity at approximately 20 working hours a week.

Position Summary:

To advance Teach For All’s 25-year vision and intended outcomes, we are seeking a Legal and Compliance Administrative Support Coordinator to support the legal, compliance and risk management functions of the Teach For All organization. In this part-time role, you will report to the Director, Legal, Compliance and Risk Management and help implement and manage the systems and processes that ensure our organization meets legal requirements, manages risks, and stays aligned with ethical standards. You’ll work most closely with the Global Operations Team (Finance, People Ops, Tech) and at times with other teams across the organization as you assist with a variety of administrative tasks related to legal, compliance, and risk.

Description of Job duties and Responsibilities:

  • Legal & Compliance Support:
    • Support legal research and basic drafting under guidance.
    • Close review and editing of legal documents
    • Assist in keeping legal documents and files organized and up to date.
    • Ad hoc support and research on visa needs and challenges.
  • Contract and agreement review and assistance
    • Assist with basic contract preparation and document formatting, maintain a database of templates.
    • Keep track of deadlines and filing systems for legal agreements.
  • Trademarks
    • Assist with maintaining records for trademarks and flagging renewal dates.
    • Monitor progress of applications with external legal counsel, arrange notaries etc., domain lookups.
  • Ethical policies-
    • Coordinate the scheduling of ethical policy training for staff.
    • Help maintain records related to policy acknowledgements.
  • Safety & Security
    • Collect and share information related to major events (visibility for Global Ops Team).
    • Conduct international safety checks with service provider (ISOS).
    • Submit background checks.
    • Organize and file relevant child safeguarding documentation.
    • Maintain incident report tracker.

The ideal candidate will bring the following:

  • Minimum of 5 years work experience
  • Experience working independently and supporting senior level roles
  • Experience and/or interest in international relations, compliance, non profit operations and law.
  • Organized with the ability to handle a high volume of work and multiple deadlines.
  • A clear and thorough communicator both in writing and verbally primarily in the English language.
  • Comfort in working with people based around the world and across time zones.
  • High attention to detail, and detail oriented skills
  • Comfort giving and receiving feedback and a willingness to learn.
  • Experience with spreadsheets, document formatting and proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications

Compensation

Salary for this position is competitive and dependent on the country of hire and prior work experience.

We are seeking a senior professional to manage the legal and compliance functions across WTW Australia, New Zealand, and Pacific Island businesses. The Role

  • Manage the provision of general legal, transactional, and regulatory advice to the Pacific business leadership teams.

Qualifications

The Requirements

  • Proven experience as a senior lawyer with over 15 years in private practice and/or in-house roles. Must be licensed and in good standing as an active member of the bar in at least one relevant jurisdiction.
  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance in Australia and New Zealand is required, with deep knowledge and understanding strongly preferred.Direct experience providing regulatory compliance support, or managing others who have provided such support, is also strongly preferred.
  • Solid track record of handling complex and sophisticated legal matters in an efficient and commercial-friendly manner.
  • Deep knowledge and experience in financial services laws and regulations are required. Some experience with the insurance sector is required, with deep experience preferred.

About the Role
