Depending on your placement in Reserving or Pricing, your day-to-day might include:
In Reserving:
Support half-year core reserving activities and financial reporting
Help develop and maintain models for claims reserving, budgeting, and forecasting
Analyse claims trends and share insights that influence business decisions
In Pricing:
Analyse product, segment, and channel profitability
Perform risk modelling, premium adequacy assessments, and pricing recommendations
Refine rating algorithms and conduct price impact analysis

Collaborate with teams across claims, finance, and underwriting
Write clean, maintainable code for data analysis and modelling
Document methodologies and results clearly and concisely

Details: The ACT Courts and Tribunal (ACTCT) supports the proper administration of justice by providing high quality support to judicial officers and tribunal members and high-quality services to those using the courts and tribunal. It provides the Supreme Court, Magistrates Court and ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal (ACAT) with registry, court support, forensic, corporate and strategic services.
The ACTCT is led by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) appointed under the Court Procedures Act 2004 and has the following business areas:
- Executive
- Registrar Supreme Court (including Supreme Court Registry Operations and Sheriff’s Office)
- Registrar Magistrates Court (including Magistrates Court Registry Operations and the Forensic Medicine Centre)
- Registrar ACAT (including ACAT Registry Operations)

The role of Associate to a Chief Magistrate is unique and involves a close working relationship between the Chief Magistrate and the Associate.
The Associate is a personal and confidential aide to Chief Magistrate, in and out of court. This may involve assisting in the management and co-ordination of the Chief Magistrate’s judicial, ceremonial, court management, administrative and legal research responsibilities, including in-court and out-of-court services as required which contributes to the efficient operation of the Magistrates Court.
A position as an Associate is a rare opportunity to gain insight into the court processes and workings of the Court and to the Chief Magistrate and as such is highly sought after and competitive. It is an invaluable experience, particularly for those interested in litigation or a career as a barrister.
The Associate, though an employee of the Directorate, specifically supports and is accountable to their allocated Magistrate and is responsible to the Principal Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, ACT Courts and Tribunal for employment and financial matters.
The Associate reports to the Chambers Manager for administrative matters. For legal tasks the Associate reports to their allocated Magistrate.

What Will You Be Doing
A Junior Associate supports a team of high performing individuals servicing new and existing private clients seeking private wealth investment and management solutions. The role also supports Client Acquisition which is a key strategic priority supported by providing an exceptional customer experience.
You will work in a professional and efficient manner supporting your team in delivering Private Wealth Management solutions to FIIG clients including all administrative and client relationship management support and provide a high level of client service particularly to a large Private Client customer base and resolve any client complaints in a prompt and professional manner.
This role is based in Sydney and will see you:
Provide support as required to other client segments including Institutions, Middle market and Intermediary clients
Have a strong understanding of credit markets, global macro outlook and the specific products made available by FIIG to its clients
Use your initiative to support the sales team perform in their roles including using analysis of client data and records from within CRM
Proficiently utilise all of FIIG’s systems including updating and maintaining client relationship management software (CRM)
Familiarise yourself with all FIIG Tools to facilitate bond portfolio construction and trade suggestions
Prepare direct bond portfolios and generate trade/relative value suggestions in accordance with client needs, working closely with other Directors/Associate Directors in providing portfolio construction suggestions and sales notes to clients
Attend and contribute to regular sales and client meetings
Support processes between front and back office to ensure sales processes are adhered in in accordance with the National Sales Process
Look to build your own professional/personal networks working with your team in realising new client acquisition opportunities
About You
To be considered for this key role, you will have experience in:

High level of written and verbal communication skills

A Junior Associate supports a team of high performing individuals servicing new and existing private clients seeking private wealth investment and management solutions. The role also supports Client Acquisition which is a key strategic priority supported by providing an exceptional customer experience.
You will work in a professional and efficient manner supporting your team in delivering Private Wealth Management solutions to FIIG clients including all administrative and client relationship management support and provide a high level of client service particularly to a large Private Client customer base and resolve any client complaints in a prompt and professional manner.
This role is based in Sydney and will see you:
- Provide support as required to other client segments including Institutions, Middle market and Intermediary clients
- Have a strong understanding of credit markets, global macro outlook and the specific products made available by FIIG to its clients
- Use your initiative to support the sales team perform in their roles including using analysis of client data and records from within CRM
- Proficiently utilise all of FIIG’s systems including updating and maintaining client relationship management software (CRM)
- Familiarise yourself with all FIIG Tools to facilitate bond portfolio construction and trade suggestions
- Prepare direct bond portfolios and generate trade/relative value suggestions in accordance with client needs, working closely with other Directors/Associate Directors in providing portfolio construction suggestions and sales notes to clients
- Attend and contribute to regular sales and client meetings
- Support processes between front and back office to ensure sales processes are adhered in in accordance with the National Sales Process
- Look to build your own professional/personal networks working with your team in realising new client acquisition opportunities
To be considered for this key role, you will have experience in:
Skills / Systems
- High level of written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to engage and interact with clients and key stakeholders at all levels
- Disciplined with excellent attention to detail
- MS Office (excel, word, PowerPoint)
- Experience using a CRM system
- Data streams (Bloomberg (ITRAXX, VIX etc.)
- 1-2 years’ experience advantageous but not essential
- RG146 AFMA accreditation
- Degree in Finance or other relevant tertiary qualification (or nearing completion)
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Planning, organising and able to meet deadlines
- Advanced problem solving
- Initiative and independence
- Good team player who enjoys interacting with colleagues and clients

Depending on your placement in Reserving or Pricing, your day-to-day might include:
In Reserving:
Support half-year core reserving activities and financial reporting
Help develop and maintain models for claims reserving, budgeting, and forecasting
Analyse claims trends and share insights that influence business decisions
In Pricing:
Analyse product, segment, and channel profitability
Perform risk modelling, premium adequacy assessments, and pricing recommendations
Refine rating algorithms and conduct price impact analysis
Across b oth d ivisions:
Collaborate with teams across claims, finance, and underwriting
Write clean, maintainable code for data analysis and modelling
Document methodologies and results clearly and concisely
Contribute to exciting projects and division-wide initiatives
What w e’re l ooking f or
A degree in Actuarial Studies, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
Progress toward actuarial qualifications (Actuaries Institute or equivalent)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Excel; experience with R, Python, or SQL is a plus

Details: The ACT Courts and Tribunal (ACTCT) supports the proper administration of justice by providing high quality support to judicial officers and tribunal members and high-quality services to those using the courts and tribunal. It provides the Supreme Court, Magistrates Court and ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal (ACAT) with registry, court support, forensic, corporate and strategic services.
The ACTCT is led by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) appointed under the Court Procedures Act 2004 and has the following business areas:
- Executive
- Registrar Supreme Court (including Supreme Court Registry Operations and Sheriff’s Office)
- Registrar Magistrates Court (including Magistrates Court Registry Operations and the Forensic Medicine Centre)
- Registrar ACAT (including ACAT Registry Operations)
- Corporate and Strategic Services.
The role of Associate to a Chief Magistrate is unique and involves a close working relationship between the Chief Magistrate and the Associate.
The Associate is a personal and confidential aide to Chief Magistrate, in and out of court. This may involve assisting in the management and co-ordination of the Chief Magistrate’s judicial, ceremonial, court management, administrative and legal research responsibilities, including in-court and out-of-court services as required which contributes to the efficient operation of the Magistrates Court.
A position as an Associate is a rare opportunity to gain insight into the court processes and workings of the Court and to the Chief Magistrate and as such is highly sought after and competitive. It is an invaluable experience, particularly for those interested in litigation or a career as a barrister.
The Associate, though an employee of the Directorate, specifically supports and is accountable to their allocated Magistrate and is responsible to the Principal Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, ACT Courts and Tribunal for employment and financial matters.
The Associate reports to the Chambers Manager for administrative matters. For legal tasks the Associate reports to their allocated Magistrate.
