About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a talented and enthusiastic Learning and Development professional to work as part of a great team who are truly passionate about training and volunteers. In this role you will have the opportunity to have a positive impact around the training of our volunteers.
Not only will this role see you work within a great team, but you will also be contributing to the coordination, design, development, implementation and evaluation of training programs that encourage, maintain and strengthen the capability of our volunteers – enhancing their role within the delivery of CFA services. You will provide direct support and advice to Regional Learning and Development teams, ensuring consistency and standardisation of leadership training and work closely with stakeholders.
About You
The person we are looking for will have proven experience in a similar role with well-developed written and verbal communication skills to develop reports and to convey training information and objectives to internal and external customers. Ideally you will also bring an understanding of contemporary-based training and development business practices.
Crucial to your success in this role is the requirement of TAE40116 or equivalent and an understanding of the arrangements, standards and environment of an RTO.
You will be highly organised, adaptable and able to prioritise multiple projects within budget, quality and time parameters. Further to this you will be professional, a great team member and excel in your follow up on tasks.

About Inland Rail
Inland Rail is transforming how goods are moved around Australia, connecting Melbourne and Brisbane via regional Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. This 1,700km fast freight backbone will complete our national freight network – better connecting producers to markets and creating new opportunities for regional businesses, industries and communities.
The Illabo to Stockinbingal project is about 39km of new rail corridor located within the local government areas of Junee and Cootamundra-Gundagai. This new section of rail corridor will provide a direct route from east of Illabo, tracking north to Stockinbingal and connecting into the existing Forbes rail line.
This role is based at our site office in Cootamundra, but may require some travel to our Mascot offices in the lead up to construction commencing in September 2025.
What is needed?
As a Learning and Development Coordinator, you will play an integral role in helping to upskill our workforce, maintaining our training and ensuring site compliance for our people while working in a rail environment.

Key Responsibilities:
-Coordinate, schedule and recording data for training sessions, workshops, and seminars.
-Coordinate the collection, recording and verification of employee competency information, such as tickets, licences and qualifications ensuring data is obtained and recorded in 3D Safety system.
-Develop, and deliver training programs in collaboration with internal/external providers and SME’s to meet identified needs in the Project Training Matrix.
-Update training documentation and maintain training calendar and training matrix
-Liaise with external key stakeholders as required.
-Provide support in Traineeships, Apprenticeships and other programs.
-Ensure compliance with learning & development activities; analyse data from subcontractors, GTOs to prepare project reports.
-Support with completion of social performance monthly reports
-Support with coordination of social performance events and initiatives
-Qualification or demonstrated experience in Training and Development or associated disciplines.
-Previous experience working in a similar HR or training coordination support role
-Ability to collect, monitor and prepare data and generate reports.

-Proactive and have good time management and organisation skills
To be successful in this role, you must have:
-Strong data processing skills

The Opportunity
Our opportunity is an exciting step for somebody wanting to build their next career move in a national, multi-faceted People & Culture function. You will work closely with the Head of People & Culture, contributing to the design and delivery of firm wide programs, managing relationships with external consultants, and partnering with subject matter experts to create and deliver engaging onboarding and training content.
You will also have full support to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation in learning design and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Induction & Onboarding
- Coordinate and facilitate induction programs for new employees.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to review and refresh induction content regularly including mandatory learning modules.
- Support the design and delivery of onboarding programs that enhance the employee experience.
- Work closely with the Head of People & Culture to design and deliver graduate program inductions and training initiatives.
Learning & Development
- Act as the People & Culture representative to support and coordinate the firm’s Continuing Legal Education (CLE) program.
- Collaborate with professional legal staff on the coordination of the firm’s Lunch n Learn series.
- Coordinate compliance tracking and ensure all mandatory training requirements are met and recorded.
- Support IT change management initiatives, including coordinating and delivering training for new platforms and systems (where appropriate).
- Partner with external consultants to manage relationships and ensure quality and value in delivered programs.
- Assist in the design, development and delivery of engaging learning content, both in person and online.
Engagement & Culture
- Contribute to broader people initiatives and cultural programs as required.
- Coordinate the firm’s Mentoring Program including reviewing engagement and success of the program and managing the Mentor/Mentee matching process.
Role Requirements
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (or equivalent).
- Minimum 2 years’ previous experience in learning and development or a similar role.
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
- A passion for ongoing learning.

- Experience with Learning Management Systems (preferably Go1 Learn).

About the role
The Director of Professional Learning and Development oversees the professional learning plan for the College through a coaching approach. The role has an emphasis on engaging staff with developing and improving their practice as well as supporting graduate and early career teachers and new staff to the College. The Director of Professional Learning and Development leads the work of the Pedagogical Coaches to embed a culture of expert teacher practice.
The successful applicant will be a registered teacher with the Victorian Institute of Teaching. A full-time ongoing teacher contract is offered with this appointment. The Position of Leadership (POL 4) is offered as a 4 year tenure.
