About the Role

Located in our Sydney office, you’re a Social Media Manager reporting to the Senior Account Director – Social. You will help lead the implementation and support channel & community planning across all social media platforms for one of the agency's tier one social accounts.

Responsibilities:

1. Social Content Calendar Management

  • Plan and maintain detailed social media content calendars for each client and campaign.
  • Ensure calendars align with brand tone, business objectives, and campaign briefs.
  • Schedule posts across platforms using tools like Hootsuite or Sprout Social.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to align content deadlines and publishing schedules.
  • Update and adjust calendars in real time to accommodate changes or optimisations.

2. Community Management

  • Monitor client social media channels daily for comments, messages, and engagement.
  • Respond to audience interactions in a timely, brand-appropriate manner.
  • Escalate issues or sensitive feedback to the relevant internal or client teams.
  • Help grow community engagement through strategic interaction and conversation.

3. Caption Writing

  • Write engaging and platform-appropriate copy that aligns with each client’s tone of voice.
  • Adapt messaging for various social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Collaborate with creative and strategy teams to ensure captions support visual content and broader objectives.
  • Maintain a consistent brand voice across all social touchpoints.

4. Reporting & Analytics

  • Track content performance using platform analytics and third-party tools.
  • Create weekly/monthly reports to show engagement, reach, growth, and other KPIs.
  • Interpret data to provide actionable insights and optimisation strategies.
  • Identify trends, content types, or platforms that are performing well or underdelivering.

5. Channel & Campaign Execution

  • Act as the day-to-day lead for managing social channels across clients.
  • Ensure timely and accurate posting of approved content.
  • Review posts for alignment with briefs, brand tone, and platform best practices before publishing.
  • Troubleshoot technical or scheduling issues as they arise.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with social creatives to plan and brief in content that meets campaign goals.
  • Collaborate with account service teams to ensure client feedback and objectives are clearly incorporated.
  • Liaise with production to align timelines and deliverables for social content

7. Social Creative Custodian

  • Ensure brand elements are reflective of channel best practice, are cohesive and visually engaging
  • Review content layout ahead of scheduling to ensure strategic placement.
  • Understand what makes good content, keen eye for creative aligned to implementation

8. Influencer & Contra Management

  • Led the end-to-end influencer management process, including talent research, shortlisting, and outreach across macro, micro, and niche creators aligned to campaign objectives and brand safety.
  • Negotiated influencer rates, usage rights, and deliverables to align with client budgets and timelines, ensuring cost efficiency while maintaining content quality and impact.
  • Developed detailed influencer briefs, ensuring clarity on brand messaging, content direction, usage rights, and legal requirements; facilitated content reviews and revisions to meet brand safety standards.
  • Managed influencer timelines, approvals, and content delivery; collaborated with creators for smooth execution and provided clients with performance wrap-ups, asset recaps, and insights.
  • Mangement of contra influencer campaigns, including talent selection, sending product kits/boxes, tracking content delivery, and reporting on asset performance and earned media value.

What you bring

  • Minimum 2-3 years social media experience in a similar Social Media channel and community role.
  • A degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or PR.
  • Channel first knowledge – you will be at the forefront of trends, channel updates and the cultural conversations that are happening.
  • Experience of paid media tools to boost content is a benefit

The team

MoTackle & Outdoors is looking for a Marketing Manager / Social Media team member to join our growing business.

We are seeking an experienced individual to facilitate EDM email marketing activities within MOTACKLE & OUTDOORS. This is a full-time, permanent, in-house role located in Coffs Harbour, NSW.

The key focus for this hands-on role is to deliver exceptional social media and marketing EDM programs for our fishing and camping departments, both online and in-store.

At MO Tackle & Outdoors, we are passionate about all things fishing and camping. We are the largest fishing tackle shop in Australia, offering a wide range of fishing tackle and outdoor gear, including but not limited to fishing, camping, hiking, spearfishing, and surfing. (Motackle.com.au)

The successful applicant must have proven experience in marketing and media, with excellent communication skills and knowledge of marketing and advertising, including social media.

The role includes:

  • Producing two email marketing newsletters per week, using Photoshop on Mac computers.
  • Assisting with marketing assets and promotions both in-store and online.
  • Supporting the creative direction of visual content and advertisements.
  • Coordinating with our team to ensure seamless marketing campaigns across all media, including TV and radio advertising.
  • Managing Google AdWords (experience preferred but not essential).

Minimum requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • A passion for and knowledge of effective campaign management (experience preferred but not essential).
  • Proficiency with analytical and reporting tools, such as Facebook Ads Manager (experience preferred but not essential).
  • Knowledge of Facebook algorithms, ranking factors, and search engine algorithms (experience preferred but not essential).
  • High attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
  • Experience with Magneto and EDM software platforms.

About The Role
The Social Media Specialist is responsible for developing and executing compelling social media campaigns that amplify our brand and drive growth across all social channels.

  • Act as a brand ambassador, comfortable behind and in front of the camera.
  • Curate the weekly content calendar in collaboration with Head of Marketing & Art Director, including planning, copywriting, asset creation, and scheduling across all social platforms, including but not limited to TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, Youtube, and LinkedIn.
  • Lead the planning and execution of our content strategy.
  • Developing engaging, brand-aligned social media strategies to support business and marketing goals.
  • Lead the ideation and execution of innovative social media campaigns and promotions.
  • Create engaging and brand-aligned content across all platforms.
  • Participate in photoshoots to capture behind-the-scenes footage and pre-planned social media videos.
  • Deliver weekly reports on essential social media metrics and campaign activities.
  • Maintain and foster brand reputation, presence, and relationships across platforms.

About You
  • 2 years of experience in a similar role within retail is desired.
  • Relevant tertiary studies across Marketing or a similar field.
