The Role

Antares is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to drive sales of our Application Development solutions. This is a pure sales role focused on identifying , pursuing, and closing new business opportunities (and some existing account management)
using and harnessing your knowledge in custom solutions based on Microsoft Technologies within the Application Development practice .

You’ll be responsible for generating new client relationships and expanding existing ones, selling custom application development services including software solutions, chatbots, generative AI applications, and systems integration services. As you are a part of the sales team, you will work closely with our delivery and technical teams to ensure seamless transition post-sale, but your primary focus will be sales and revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive new business development through proactive outreach, networking, and partner engagement (especially with Microsoft).
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified sales opportunities for application development projects.
  • Own the end-to-end sales process from prospecting to deal closure.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key business and IT decision-makers.
  • Consistently meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to align client needs with Antares’ capabilities.
  • Support account transition to the delivery team and ensure a smooth customer handover.
  • Identify upsell, cross-sell, and recurring business opportunities within accounts.

About You

  • 3+ years’ experience in business development or sales within the professional services or technology sector.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Solutions in the Application Development space, such as Azure, .NET, AI applications, chatbots and systems integration services
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated, outcome-driven, and comfortable working autonomously.
  • Excellent relationship builder with a hunter mindset.
  • Knowledge of our primary NSW/VIC markets and established industry networks is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience with Pre-Sales would also be a desirable.

We are looking for an Application Development Manager to support one of our valued clients on various application initiatives.
What You’ll Do

  • Provide technical leadership on application development and maintenance activities seeking to pursue evolving industry practice
  • Define and drive the strategic direction of the organisation's application stack, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
  • Lead the design and development of scalable, secure, and reliable application solutions and integrations that meet business requirements and adhere to SDLC standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs, gather and document technical requirements, and priorities, and translate them into solutions.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to inform decisions and drive innovation within the organisation.
  • Together with vendors, develop and maintain standards, principles, guidelines, and best practices for application development and integration.
  • Maintain and enhance current DevOps practice with agile development and low- and no-code platforms
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to implement new application systems
  • Ensure application security best practices and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for all delivered solutions
  • Mentor and coach IT teams on architectural concepts, design principles, and best practices, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Know
  • Comprehensive understanding of software development principles and best practices.
  • Experience with microservices architecture and API management
  • Proficiency in application design and development technologies, frameworks, and platforms.
  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise application integration (EAI) and service-oriented architecture (SOA) principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing architectures, including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS).
  • Understanding of security principles and best practices in application design.
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum, and DevOps – including CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies and industry trends in application development and architecture.
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements relevant to application development and architecture
What Experience You'll Bring
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on application architecture and design.
  • Experience leading the design and development of complex enterprise applications and systems.
  • Hands-on experience with a variety of programming languages, frameworks, and technologies relevant to application development (e.g., Java, .NET, Python, Node.js, React).
  • Experience designing and implementing scalable, secure, and reliable application solutions in on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors to deliver successful architectural solutions.
  • Experience mentoring and coaching team members on architectural concepts, design principles, and best practices.
  • Experience managing technical debt and driving modernisation initiatives
You'll be expected to be available to work in a hybrid capacity and be available to work 3 days per week from their South Eastern Suburb office.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President of Platform Engineering to lead our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in application modernization, particularly with microservices architecture and .NET technologies. This role will be pivotal in driving our platform's evolution, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Platform Engineering team, providing strategic direction and technical guidance.
  • Oversee the modernization of legacy applications to microservices architecture.
  • Ensure the effective implementation and integration of .NET/.Net Core technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align platform engineering efforts with business objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement in engineering practices, tools, and processes.
  • Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure to support platform scalability and performance.
  • Drive the design and development of solutions with close collaboration from solution architecture and key business stakeholders, ensuring adherence to policy and procedures throughout SDLC (Agile practice).
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the engineering team.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure our platform remains competitive.
  • Provide conceptual analyses for a variety of broad and complex issues.
  • Manage all products from design to implementation and ongoing performance according to business requirements.
  • Ensure all technology standards are developed, understood and adhered to.
  • Lead research, development and prototyping efforts to advance the state-of-the-art in infrastructure as code patterns with a healthy mix of projects and research ideas that can be tested in near-term as well as fundamental advances that require long-term focus.
  • Communicate with senior leaders and stakeholders on program updates, roadmap and vision, and help them reimagine their businesses.
  • Mentor and coach engineers, fostering professional growth and career development through goal setting, performance reviews, and career pathing.
Qualifications
  • 15+ years of engineering experience or related roles, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position.
  • Proven experience in a senior engineering leadership role, preferably as a VP or Director of Engineering.
  • Extensive experience with application modernization, microservices architecture, and .NET technologies.
  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
  • Knowledge of security best practices in software development and cloud environments.

Salary Range

$165,000-$300,000.00 USD with performance based bonus potential.

The successful candidate is expected to work in one of our offices 3 days per week and also be available for travel as required.

The annual base salary range posted represents a broad range of salaries around the U.S. and is subject to many factors including but not limited to credentials, education, experience, geographic location, job responsibilities, performance, skills and/or training.
